Germany work visa for qualified professionals
For professionals with a qualification recognized or comparable in Germany and an offer of qualified employment.
Core requirements
The academic or vocational qualification must be recognized in Germany, or a foreign degree comparable; regulated professions require permission to practise.
A specific offer of qualified employment is required; auxiliary work does not qualify. The job generally need not relate to the qualification, except for regulated professions.
For first-time workers in Germany over 45, the 2026 salary must be at least €55,770 gross annually or adequate pension provision must be shown.
