Luxembourg EU Blue Card
Luxembourg's EU Blue Card waives the labour market test but still requires the employer to declare the vacancy to ADEM; the salary threshold is set by Grand-Ducal regulation and revised.
Core requirements
An employment contract of at least six months for highly qualified work with a Luxembourg employer.
An annual salary at least equal to the amount set by Grand-Ducal regulation, quoted on the page as €65,652. The amount is fixed by regulation and revised, and the page states no year.
Highly qualified workers are not subject to the labour market test.
Even with the labour market test waived, the employer must still declare the vacancy to ADEM.
The authorisation to stay must be obtained before entering; the response normally takes up to four months and the temporary authorisation is valid for 90 days.
The first Blue Card is valid for four years, or for the contract duration plus three months where the contract runs less than four years.
It sits outside the ordinary salaried route's first-year restriction to one profession within a single sector.
