UK Global Talent visa
The UK Global Talent visa needs no employer sponsorship, but outside the prize route it is a two-stage process: obtain an endorsement in your field, then apply for the visa.
Core requirements
For a leader or potential leader in one of three fields: academia or research, arts and culture, or digital technology.
You must be at least 18 years old.
If you have won an eligible prestigious prize, you can apply for the visa directly without an endorsement.
If you have not won an eligible prize, you must first obtain an endorsement proving you are a leader or potential leader in your field before applying for the visa.
Except on the prize route, this is a two-stage process: endorsement first, then the visa. Treating it as a single application underestimates the timeline.
This route does not rest on employer sponsorship, which is the fundamental difference from the Skilled Worker visa; the guidance points those who do not qualify toward other work routes such as the Skilled Worker visa.
