Denmark Pay Limit Scheme
Denmark's Pay Limit Scheme turns on a single annual salary figure revised each year, with no occupation list and no education tier, but with separate conditions on employment terms and a Danish bank account.
Core requirements
As a general rule, a formal employment agreement with a company registered in Denmark; a verbal promise or expression of interest is not enough.
The minimum for 2026 is DKK 552,000. The amount is regulated every year on 1 January.
The offered terms must not be inferior to the standards within the professional field, including holiday entitlements and terms of notice.
Salary must be paid into a Danish bank account in your own name, opened within 180 days of the permit being approved or of entry into Denmark.
Where the employment runs four years or more, the permit is normally valid for four years.
Where it is shorter, the permit covers the employment period plus an automatic six-month job-seeking extension.
Normal processing time is one month, up to three months if further information is needed.
The application fee is DKK 6,810.
